The New York Academy of Sciences interviewed Jason Salfi, CEO of Dimensional Energy (NEXUS-NY 2016) about his participation in the NEXUS-NY Proof of Concept Centers program. Learn how Dimensional Energy is addressing energy storage.
Carbon sequestration and conversion is certainly an area in which there's lot of commercial interest right now. Sequestration is a relatively mature technology, but I think converting it into useful fuels and so forth is kind of the next generation, and that's where the burgeoning companies like ourselves are moving into.
Salfi has said that his focus has been on commercial solutions to solve the world’s most pressing problems, and the founding of Dimensional Energy and competing in the NRG COSIA Carbon XPRIZE is an extension of that lifetime mission.
HI-LIGHT was among 1,150 new product ideas submitted in the 15th annual design contest, which was established in 2002 to recognize and reward engineering innovations that benefit humanity, the environment, and the economy.
“The selected semi-finalists show that innovation can come from anywhere, determined by our expert judging panel to represent the most promising and innovative submissions in the competition. We believe that these teams will push the boundaries of CO2 utilization and create breakthrough solutions that will tackle a significant source of CO2 emissions."
